GCCT-AT vial
AT-Closed Vial Automated Water-free Cell Thawing System
Introducing the GCCT-AT Vial: A Breakthrough in Cell Thawing
For users who store and transport samples in AT-Closed Vials, GROCELLBIO has developed the GCCT-AT Vial Automated Water-free Cell Thawing System. This dry heating thawing system eliminates the contamination risks associated with water baths, providing a more standardized and controlled process that meets GMP and clinical requirements.
When used with the proprietary GCCT-MS software which is a thawing management system, the system enables data management and traceability, making the entire thawing operation more compliant and standardized.

The Challenge with Traditional Thawing Methods
The most common way to rapidly thaw cryopreserved cell samples is to submerge cryovials in a 37°C water bath for a few minutes, judging when to stop by observing the sample's state. This method, however, has some significant drawbacks, including:
- High risk of biological sample contamination.
- The process cannot be considered sterile.
- Inconsistent results due to subjective judgments on thawing time and endpoint by different operators.
- Limitations on its use in GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and clinical environments.
- Lack of standardization, intelligence, and integration with automated cell culture equipment.

Key Features
- Safety: There is no presence of water in the entire system. Eliminates the high contamination risk from water baths, ensuring sample integrity.
- Ease of Use: Simple operation via either the control buttons or the software. The system can thaw samples without removing the AT-Closed Vial's base. The process involves a simple sequence: self-check/preheat, insert sample, thaw, and remove the sample when complete.

- Standardization: An integrated control program ensures the thawing process is consistent and controllable, removing the need for subjective judgment.
- Smart Functionality: Users can customize thawing conditions and integrate the instrument into automated cell culture equipment like isolators.
- Data Recording: The system records and displays real-time temperature data and thawing curves at a frequency of 1 Hz.
- Data Traceability: When connected to a software, the software automatically saves thawing curves, temperature data, and audit trails, ensuring compliance with GMP requirements. This feature also supports compliance with FDA 21 CFR Part 11 for audit trails.
Applications
This system is suitable for a wide range of fields, including:
- Cell banks
- Vaccine production
- Cell and Gene Therapy (CGT)
- Biologics and powdered injections
